Oppose the Condo Conversion Bailout
Tell your MLA, MP, Premier Eby, and Prime Minister Carney you object to using public funds to buy up empty luxury condos. Find your representatives, personalize the letter, and send it to all four at once.
What is this policy, and why oppose it?
What's proposed: The B.C. and federal governments plan to spend billions of dollars to "convert" roughly 2,200 unsold condo units β buying up developers' empty inventory instead of letting the market correct.
Who it really helps: It's a taxpayer-funded bailout for developers, not buyers. As urban planner Andy Yan notes, a large share of these empty units are luxury condos priced over $1 million β homes that do nothing to solve affordability.
Why it's wrong: When developers over-build and can't sell, the market answer is to lower prices. This policy allows corporations to privatize their profits but socialize their losses.
Lookup powered by the Represent API (Open North). If your MLA or MP can't be found automatically, you can still send to the Premier and Prime Minister.
